The Latest News About The Disastrous General Plan

State Parks proceeded with their general plan for The Forest Of Nisene Marks State Park, continuing to push for the weakest version of the plan in terms of environmental protection. The final version of the General Plan also was the worst in terms of being an affront to the wishes of the Marks family as expressed in their well-written deed.

The California State Parks Commission received the final version of the plan and heard State Parks' presentation of the plan as well the opposing views of many of us there to stand up for the protection of the property and the intent of the deed. The hearing was expected to be a mere rubber stamping of the plan, and in spite of how gracious and considerate the Commission was for those of us opposing the plan, the hearing did indeed rubber stamp the plan.

Citizens for the Preservation of the Forest of Nisene Marks State Park, founded by Sandy Henn, has taken the next necessary step towards blocking this inadequate and flawed General Plan. Click on the link below to learn more and see how you can help.
